Today may be zero below and a total snow-white out your window. Cattle are eating hay and calving season will be starting soon. DCCI produces, measures, weighs and eye-ball evaluates over 500 calves a year and only the best of the best are retained for herd sires. Great young bulls are grown-out and available at reasonable prices with many dozen to select from.

Transparency is an often used media word. It means "easily understood or detected; clear or obvious." In purchasing young bulls, data must be easily understood, clear and obvious, and lots of it, fair enough? At DCCI every animal is weighed twice a year. Horns measured one to 3 times a year, pedigrees evaluated back beyond 1964 and disposition score numbers calculated on every bull. Weaning weights reveal maternal milk --- also very important.
