Death and Fines
At Dickinson Cattle Co, and the Longhorn Store thousands of people drop in from I-70 and purchase Texas Longhorn Beef, or bounce
the pastures on the ranch tour bus' during the Summer. But, there is a problem.
Â
Deer and cattle scratch against the black board fences. In order not to
replace and repair fences a single electric wire is placed on the "cow" side
of the fence. It causes livestock to be "respectful," yet there is absolutely
no such respect from the tourists. They are warned, encouraged and begged not
to touch the electric wires. They won't read the signs. These signs
have been a little helpful, but the problem is still unending.
Â
The problem is --- guests to the ranch get so engrossed looking at the
big horned cattle they tend to lean toward the fences, whereby certain projectile-effect
body parts make direct contact, and zaaaooowwweee!Â
Â
It is never the electrocuted one's fault. Some doubt instant death and
want to "test the current." One guest was warned while taking a photo not to
touch the wire, then leaned forward and his metal camera touched, delivering
the full current a direct hit on his nose. We don't know what to do?
Â
It is important for the ranch to provide high quality BETTER THAN ORGANIC
beef to red meat lovers. People like to purchase great breeding stock to start
or increase their herds. What can we do? We like our clients --- and want
them to live a healthy long life.
Â
Do you think "INSTANT DEATH" does not sound serious enough? Do you think
we have over stated the problem? What about the fine? Does it need to be
higher priced, or should we offer a two-for-one rate of $899 for two recapitulating
shocks?
Â
When visiting the ranch be aware of the problem. Don't be afraid to purchase
healthy lean beef or your next great champion herd sire, just because of this electric
contrivance. We really don't want anyone to have a "shocking" experience. And
--- that is a jolting fact!
