DCCI - Family Business for 40 yearsJuly 6, 2007
For 40 years Texas Longhorn cattle have been the major business for Dickinson Cattle Co, of Barnesville, Ohio. Artificial insemination is still, and has been serious since the first Longhorn semen was collected on Texas Ranger and Don Quixote in the early seventies. Today, in the foot hills of the Appalachian mountains, quality genetics is serious and has been for 3 generations.
Joel Dickinson is inseminating a cow and daughter Kara, age 5, is holding the tail. Now "tail holding" may not be a real important sounding job, but if you ever AI a cow when the grass is lush and green, a rapid switching tail in the face can be rather, shall we say....immodist........to say the least. When Kara gets older she won't get to hold the tail any more.....her kids can do the job for her like her dad did for her Papa.
For 40 years of great Texas Longhorn genetics, and investment quality cattle call DCCI 740 758 5050. Three generations of respect and appreciation for the great Texas Longhorn breed and the people who have improved it.
