Barnesville, Ohio~~~~The 100th Texas Longhorn bull to measure more than 70" straight across tip to tip is "WIN WIN" owned by Dickinson Cattle Company Inc., (DCCI) of Barnesville, Ohio. The famous "measuring czar" Craig Perez, of Waurika, Oklahoma, spent 3 days evaluating the largest horned cattle at DCCI.
There is some concern that you can't eat a horn sandwich and perhaps even the hamburger is chunky, but horn is an exciting value factor to registered Texas Longhorn producers. In recent years Texas Longhorns have sold for up to $170,000. Of the leading breeds of cattle using the costly tool of cloning for reproduction, superior Texas Longhorns are major players.
Perez maintains an extensive web site which documents and accurately publishes record spreads. It is www.arrowheadcattlecompany.com. Currently several hundred critters are displayed on his famous site in order of spread length. Perez travels extensively to leading ranches where the very best specimens are pastured. His integrity and accuracy are undisputed.
The 100th bull to go over the 70" mark is WIN WIN with a 70.38" tip to tip. He also weighs well over a ton and entered this life with a 61 lb. birth weight. DCCI Texas Longhorns are known for extreme data of very low birth weights and large mature size. This has increased their popularity for easy calving bulls to service on other breeds of first calf heifers.
DCCI is a leading producer of quality Texas Longhorn registered cattle. The ranch provides narrated bus tours daily starting June 1 through Sept. 1. Tours meander through numerous Appalachian pastures where African Watusi and Dutch Buelingo cattle also range.

Scott Dickey of Dickinson Cattle Co., Inc., Barnesville, Ohio, assists with the evaluation. Although Texas Longhorns are known for calving ease, browse utilization, record longevity, disease resistance and gain under harsh conditions, their serpentine horns are the signature attraction for producers. In recent years their lean beef qualities have created increased beef profitability.
